For The Easy Beach Days

Mom, I still think about those beach house days with friends, being near the water, laughing, and learning ring toss in the middle of all of it. It was one of those scenes that probably felt simple at the time, but it stayed with me.

Now I understand that part of what made it so happy was the ease you helped create. You gave me room to enjoy life without having to earn the joy first. That is a bigger gift than I knew when I was a kid.

I hope today has a little ease in it for you too, especially as you keep finding your steadiness again. I love you very much.
